About Us

The Happiness at Work Program is a collaboration between Dr Timothy Sharp of The Happiness Institute and Alexandra Blakemore of French Navy. 

A chance meeting led to their realising how closely aligned their areas of interest are and this Program is the result.

Dr. Timothy Sharp

Dr. Timothy Sharp has three degrees in psychology (including a Ph.D.) and an impressive record as an academic, clinician and coach.  He runs one of Sydney’s most respected clinical psychology practices, a highly regarded Executive Coaching practice, and is the founder & CHO (Chief Happiness Officer) of The Happiness Institute, Australia’s first and now largest organisation devoted solely to enhancing happiness in individuals, families and organisations ( He’s taught at all the major universities in NSW and is currently an Adjunct Professor (in Positive Psychology) within the School of Management, Faculty of Business at UTS and also an Adjunct Professor (Positive Psychology) within the School of Health Sciences at RMIT University. In 2008 Dr. Sharp’s achievements were recognised by the Australian Davos Connection when he received a Future Leadership Award.  Dr. Sharp is also a best selling author of, among other things, “The Happiness Handbook” and “100 Ways to Happiness: a guide for busy people”. He’s a sought after public speaker, and as a result of his frequent appearances in the local and international media he’s been read and heard by millions of people (

Alexandra Blakemore 

Alexandra is the founder of French Navy, a boutique online stationery and etiquette company,

Launched in 2009, French Navy operates on a global scale, filling stationery orders for both the consumer and corporate market, and provides both stationery and etiquette training to some of Australia’s largest companies.  

With a background in marketing and advertising, having worked both in Australian and overseas, Alexandra brings to French Navy a unique combination of corporate acumen with a stylish creative flair.

Alexandra and French Navy have appeared in a number of publications, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, The Sydney Morning Herald, Belle, The Advertiser and House & Garden to name a few. She is also regularly sought out by print and electronic media for specialist commentary on etiquette and related matters.

In recent years French Navy has expanded to include a corporate offering which includes a range of etiquette courses.

Alexandra is also an accomplished public speaker, with an emphasis on etiquette and manners in the workplace.
